The tricky part is what to cut. For all of those who say we could solve this with military budget cuts consider that our DoD spending is about 700 billion $ (or 7,000$ in the family budget analogy)
We could totally dismantle our military and still be in the red. Perhaps some military spending cuts are warranted, but it is the massive welfare state that needs to be slashed in order to balance the budget.
