Very good point in this article. I started with Ubuntu, tried Knoppix, Freespire (my most hated for its CNR - I hit install, go to a site, download what it wants me to double click it and now I'm back where I started. I quit using Freespire within half an hour of its installation), and even Gentoo for a short while (not as short as Freespire). I ended up liking Ubuntu better. I plan on trying Mandriva and Fedora later, but for now I'm good. Point is it's a matter of preference.
