Don't want to be snarky about a book I haven't read, but I loved this review!

I am a writer, quilter and knitter, and health survey coordinator. My primary passion is writing, but my "bread and butter" work is currently in state government. I'm interested in websites and blogs devoted to writing, or needleworks such as knitting and quilting.

Nice writeup of the benefits of offering one's ebooks for free. Better to be read for free, than to be not read at all.

This is a kick-ass tool to keep you writing. I was skeptical at first; it seemed like such a gimmick. But then I tried it and found that even the gentle mode was enough to keep me going. It's perfect for writers like myself who are easily distracted and participate in a lot of social networking activities. Write-or-die keeps me on task, the task of writing!

Good warning about small presses that charge large fees to authors.

Basically, I just love John Hewitt's website! Where does he find the time to blog so much info on writing, in the very broadest definition of the word. He has info on nonfiction as well as fiction writing and poetry. I can't keep up with him, but it's fun trying.
