    Entertainment Weekly reports that Neil Youngâ€s long-time collaborator Ben Keith has passed at the age of 73. Keith was a multi-talented steel guitarist and master of many other instruments.

    He got is start as a session musician for the likes of Patsy Cline when she recorded I Fall to Pieces, then went on to work with Neil Young on many of his albums. He even worked on more recent albums including Jewelâ€s debut album, Pieces of You and many others.

    Steel guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and longtime Neil Young collaborator Ben Keith has died of unknown causes at the age of 73. According to Rolling Stone, Young acknowledged his passing last night at the singer-songwriterâ€s show in Winnipeg. â€oeThis is for Ben Keith,” Young said, before playing â€oeOld Man.” â€oeHis spirit will live on. The Earth has taken him.”
