From the page: "Internet Hunting
Internet huntingâ€"also called remote-controlled or computer-assisted huntingâ€"allows a remote computer user to kill real animals. At a game ranch that the armchair â€oehunters” view live on their computer monitors, a real, loaded gun is mounted on a robotic tripod. Food is used to lure animalsâ€"many of whom have lost their fear of humansâ€"within close range, at which time the Internet hunters can line up a shot with their computer mouse and â€oefire” at will.
The ASPCA supports the passage of legislation to ban Internet hunting, and several states have done so in recent years:
* 2008â€"CO, OK, UT
* 2007â€"AK, DE, ID, IL, MA, NE
* 2006â€"AL, KY, LA, MS, NH, NM, SC
Introduced to the U.S. House and Senate in 2007 (but failing to pass), the federal Computer-Assisted Remote Hunting Act would have prohibited certain computer-assisted remote hunting nationwide.
Please visit the ASPCA Advocacy Center to learn more about Internet hunting. "
This is so sick. Why do I have to give it a thumbs up just because I found it. This is a thumbs down to people who do this!

From the page: "When I heard about the arrest of Michael Vick and read about what he did to dogs, it made my stomach hurt. However, I was never like so many of my friends and co-workers who were on the "convict Michael Vick and put him away" bandwagon. I felt, as I do now, that he is worth more to people and animals, free and able to speak out about his crimes."
Why not ask the animals he tortured and killed? Do you honestly think that he still won't be a hero?

From the page: ""An ironic development is that the launch of an online program meant to provide facts about health insurance reform has itself become the target of fear-mongering and online rumors that are the tactics of choice for the defenders of the status quo," the White House's new media director, Macon Phillips, wrote in announcing the change."
This is stupid! My sister sent me a totally un-real video of an AARP walking out of a meeting...what she didn't know was that the meeting had been hijacked by the right-wing. Who would talk over that?

From the page: "Asked what he cried about, Vick said, "What I did, you know, being away from my family, letting so many people down. I let myself down, not being out on the football field, being in a prison bed, in a prison bunk, writing letters home, you know. That wasn't my life. That wasn't the way that things was supposed to be. And all because the so-called culture that I thought was right, that I thought it was cool. and I thought it was fun, and it was exciting at the time. It all led to me laying in a prison bunk by myself with no one to talk to but myself." "
You cried because you got caught. I bet you never once thought of one of those dogs that you tortured.
Because of your celebrity status, I don't believe you can influence anyone not to follow your past.
Your life should be ruined and it is just too bad that other regular people are not punished as harshly as you. I don't feel sorry for you and I don't believe that people who do what you did could possibly feel guilt.

From the page: ""Michael Vick admits that what he did to dogs was cruel and barbaric, but now that he has served his time, he wants to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. He has pledged to make a long-term commitment to participate in our community-based outreach programs to steer inner-city youth away from dogfighting. At events with Michael in Atlanta and Chicago, we've seen him deliver a powerful message against animal cruelty. Like so many other major American cities, Philadelphia has a serious dogfighting problem, and groups like the Pennsylvania SPCA have excellent programs to combat dogfighting locally. We have not had any discussions with the Philadelphia Eagles and the team did not consult animal welfare groups about its decision, but we look forward to working together to combat the dogfighting problem in Philadelphia and nationwide. ""
Right. And we believe that?
