MrsA is a 51 year old woman from Houston, Texas, USA

Proud to be American but prouder still to be a Texan. Conservative in both religion and politics and I offer apology for neither. I like to knit, read books on historic folks and matters and play with linguistics.

Well folks, I am back from attending an early TEA* Party near me. This one was held on April 14 whereas most are being held around the country on April 15 or later. Not only did I get a chance to let my voice be heard, but I also got the thrill of seeing at least a couple thousand people join with me to proclaim that we are *TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY!!!

If you have not attended one, think about attending one soon.

I am not African American. In addition to that, I did not vote for Barack Obama. However, there is something very positive which anyone can say in light of current events juxtaposed to almost four centuries of history. As an ethnic group, the African American people have come further in 389 years than any other group of people since folks started writing stuff down. From chains and fetters to one of their own being President-elect of the most powerful nation on the face of the earth, the strides they have made have been nothing short of remarkable.
