From the page: "You're familiar with your home, but for a new cat or kitten, it can be a bit scary. So you need to do all you can to make your new feline friend feel at home. Create a safe place separate from other pets containing bed, and litter pan, that your cat can claim as his territory. Leave the open carrier nearby, so that he has a safe retreat if he wants one. Refresh food and water bowls daily, have safe toys on hand nd be sure to book an appointment with a vet to get his/her vaccinations!"
If you have one cat, adopting another does NOT have to be out of the picture. You just have to be patient, give both cats at least a month apart with seperate food and water so they get time to adjust to the idea without hurting each other. Give them increasing time together before leaving them alone in a room without you. It can be done and successful!!
