Have a look at the comment section...
I don't like this article, but it is worth a read if only because it delineates one of the big problems with this climate change issue. That one side is extremely alarmist - the other, says that climate change isn't real! And other scientists still say it IS real but completely unrelated to mankind.
I mean, who is to blame the lay person? Same as the LHC panic earlier this year, where we had a couple of scientists predicting doomsday and others still saying it would open up a wormhole and timetravellers would start reeling in (I am not making this up) - people are mistrustful of scientists because they seem to disagree. And on the matter of a possible world catastrophe.. and the drastic changes we need to take to prevent it... the public wants to know the people who 'know' are in agreement. So then we can go from there, you know?
In some ways this is why I prefer politicians.. they are so certain in the manner they speak, while scientists tend to be so open to possibility.
Oh and in the article, I had to laugh when it reassured the reader with a 'dobn't worry!' vibe - because the human race could survive even if a couple of hundred made it.
I mean lol.. a couple of hundred?! Am I supposed to feel reassured?! All those unwasted genes... hahah.
Let us hope they aren't all telephone hygenists. Or I might be jumping in and out of a gin and tonic pretending I'm a lemon :P
*cake to whoever gets that reference :P*
