To all Michaels StumbleUpon friends and visitors:

My dear Husband lost his fight with cancer and died Dec. 12, 4:15 am.

He had so many good friends here on SU, and he truly cared about all of them, he loved life and the good things in life such as SU.

When I can, I will perhaps post pictures of him and the things he loved.

Thanks to everyones thoughts and prayers and notes of encouragement and pages you sent him, they were really appreciated and helped keep his spirits high.

As for me, I will always love him and will be okay, as he would want me to be, and I will continue his legacy of "Living in the Now" and "Letting the Little Things Go" because "Life's Too Short" for bullshit.

Michael wanted his ashes scattered in Punta Sur reef in Cozumel Mexico. We had that conversation years ago and I never forgot it.
Perhaps we will also sink a plaque on the South Side reefs in Boynton Beach FL.

every 20 - 30 years we go through this...when will we learn? until the big energy corps stop buying them up, and suppressing the knowledge....I worked in thr Solar Energy field, and saw great strides made.....and pushed off the nearest cliffs...the anger is still present, and I hope some brave young men and women will take the challenge, and pick up the effort again...Thumbs up to you!!!

    R.I.P. Washoe

Washoe, the female chimpanzee who scientists say was the first non-human primate to learn sign language, passed away on Tuesday night. She was 42 years old.

Washoe was born and captured in West Africa, briefly used for research by the US Air Force, and finally adopted by psychologists Beatrix and R. Allen Gardner, who raised her in their home and treated her like a deaf human child.

She was then adopted by Roger and Deborah Fouts, the directors of Central Washington University's Chimpanzee and Human Communication Institute. In her lifetime, Washoe mastered the use of more than 250 signs and even taught them to another chimpanzee. As reported by the New York Times, she shared something else with humans, particularly women: an obsession with shoes.

"She always checked out your shoes, and if you had new ones she'd sign for you to show them to her," Dr. Jensvold said. "Then she might sign something about the color. She was a real shoe lady that way."
