These NWSFO local forecast pages are VERY useful and packed with current information about the weather and climate of the covered region. My favorite functionality is the Forecasts > Local Graphics page (see prh.noaa.gov/hnl/pages/gfe_graphics.php [prh.noaa.gov/hnl/pages/gfe_graphics.php] for Hawaii's version), which displays an excellent interactive image map that includes short-term and long-term map-based forecasts of weather and ocean conditions based on time and date. This page includes links to other useful websites and web pages for NOAA, NWS, and other government and non-government agencies and organizations. Since I live on Maui, I depend on current and reliable weather reports specific to that island. Hawaiian weather is such that weather and ocean conditions vary considerably from island to island, and also from the windward to the leeward side of an individual island. This web page gives me location-specific info I can use. Weather geeks and fresh air fiends alike will want this page in their bookmarks list, no matter what state they live in.
