 | Last login: 2 days agoChris is a 20 year old guy in an open relationship from Grants Pass, Oregon, USA. Okay, I finally put up my ugly mug. I'm the one on the monitor, if you believe me. :) I really should get a more recent photo up, but I'm not really a fan of having my photo taken, so that might be difficult....
How do I describe myself? Hmm... well, I'm just your average, abnormal, 20-year-old college junior nerd/geek who spends more hours programming computers than minutes being outside.

For anyone curious, the teacher of the course was unfamiliar with the Rickroll before one of my friends introduced her to it, so take from that what you will.

There are a few items that deserve to be on there, but no one is stupid enough to leave Fatal Frame and Eternal Darkness off one of these lists, so that's not even a point in their favor.

If we don't assume this, then what's to stop you from using your right hand?
Share This- Why I Dislike C++ For Large Projects

(17 reviews) http://www.mistybeach.com/articles/WhyID... - I'll admit it: I have plenty enough knowledge to write the correct version, but I would have written the first version if given this test. *BUT*, I note that this is simply because of the way he worded it. In general, if given an interview and told "make it do this", they want you to do exactly as they say, and usually nothing more. Were I doing this for production, I would have done it correctly, however. I believe this is likely the case for most interviewees with a decent knowledge of C++, as well.
That said, the choice of language doesn't have much to do with it. Choose any language, and you will find people who would have passed initial screening and who very well should be able to do a relatively simple, but will fail at it. In fact, most people you find will fall into this unless your initial screening is *very* good.
As a final note, to people saying "just use the string class", you're missing the point. There are a good many uses of pointers that don't have an STL class you can use, and would fall into the same trap. It just so happens that people *should* be familiar with char* strings, and so they make for a good test.

(63 reviews) http://www.neatorama.com/2009/02/09/10-t... - A fairly mediocre article, so no thumbs either way. It makes some valid points, while other points show a lack of thought, and others still are just plain wrong. However, I really love the SU reviews for this site... like Pottled-Benis attempting to refute each point, punctuating the "review" by calling the author a moron, all the while showing that he didn't really pay enough attention to the article to even attempt to comment on some of the points.
Also, I am laughing a lot at the people who insist that the author didn't pay attention to the "fiction" in "science fiction" while these people happily ignore the "science" part >.>
