Welcome everyone! I am a mom of two teens who needs a support group for SU. I mean, this is some kind of addiction that I cannot seem to shake.

I live in Mobile, AL but I'm not from here. My interests vary. Primarily I'm a conservative and feel that the liberal mind is such a waste. ;) I'm a Christian, though I fully admit that I don't practice it as I should. I still believe though, and that's the most important thing. I love animals and am partial to dogs and any baby animals. The geek in me loves free open source software such as Firefox. I adore Google services (though their mobile services don't work on my phone *sobs*). I love Gmail and like my cell phone, I don't know how I ever got along without it. I love spectacular photography, anything funny and history, history, history.

If you've stumbled here, then welcome and I hope you enjoy my quirky reviews. I am not known for my political correctness, but I don't believe in being affrontive either. Enjoy!

I think my eyes must be bleeding! I can hardly believe what I'm reading here. Microsoft has gone off the deep end now. They're actually experiencing delusions of grandeur. I just can't believe the audacity on their part.

What is it with these scrapbooking supply websites? Eeek! All I want is some paper. That's it, paper and to my dismay I'm supposed to click on too many things just to get to the paper. Then I have to decide (without even seeing it) what brand I want??? Get the frick out of here! I don't give a rat's bum what brand it is, I want to view it to see the color and the print.

I'll not be back here again either. This is the second one in a row that is badly done.

This was my very first visit and the very first thing I did was click on Papers (because, well, I need to buy paper) and it took me instead to Paper Embellishments. I checked the link to be sure I didn't click on the wrong thing and nope, I didn't. Bad first impression and I don't have time to fiddle with their bad page. I can find another site that will likely sell me the very same thing and I won't have to worry whether they have the links right or not.

Sorry, but you lost me first thing right away.

Excellent alternative vacation list. I was surprised to see Atlanta on the list and I'm not sure why. I guess because I was born and raised there. In any case, it is often referred to as the New York of the south, so I suppose they're right!

If I could give this a sideways thumb, I would. It definitely has a lot of promise, but isn't perfect just yet. I'm presently trying to find a better alternative to the God awful Trip Advisor. This one might surpass it, but it needs work. One serious con is that if you're planning a trip, you cannot add a listing.
Frommers Travel Guides: The Best Trips Start Here!

Is this a photo site? Or a travel information site? It must be a photo site because if you do a search for "Empire State Building" you get zero information about the attraction and tons of photos instead.

This site lost on the very first try! That's right, the so-called leading book guide is a loser web wise. Moving on to the next travel site....

I am presently looking for a better Trip Advisor alternative. This is NOT the site, though it was recommended at another site. Why you ask? Try doing a search for the Empire State Building. It is a destination, right? Yes, it is. If you have to go there, then it is definitely a destination. Yet you get zero results when you do a search. So I tried using a keyword search. Instead, I get individual pages on the ESB. Puh-leez! That's too much trouble. I should search and get this page:
virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/United_States_of_America/New_York_S... [virtualtourist.com/travel/North_America/United_States_of_America/New_York_S...]

right away.

This is definitely a waste of time.

It is apparent that our government today has forgotten this little gem. Yes, I'm the original poster of this Benjamin Franklin wisdom at wikisource, but I still believe as Semeiotike does. That this is definitely still very relevant. Today's congress and president would do well to study it.
snopes.com: Urban Legends Reference Pages

Update: This used to be a good reliable site, but no more. Sadly, a lot of their so-called "research" has turned into political commentary. Instead of stating facts, there is now a lot of embellishing in the writing, which makes me question their facts.

Futher, I disagree with many of their assertions. Just off the top of my head we'll take this one, for example. I personally HAVE that cover and it IS a phallus. There is absolutely no chance at all that it could be a "coincidence," and how can you know for sure that it is coincidence anyway? Can you read the artist's mind? At the very least, this should have been given the partial truth value. No, it wasn't a disgruntled employee but YES, someone drew it and it's clear to anyone who looks at it that it was done on purpose.

You know, there are sites that start out cool, then they fall from grace and disappear. It's time for this one to disappear. They've gotten a bit full of themselves. Playing judge AND jury makes for a big head, apparently.

Old entry: This is an excellent resource but has one very major downfall: It's nearly impossible to find what you're looking for.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the massive effort (it is after all the #1 source of its type), but the search stinks and they seriously need to consider tags as a means of finding things. They could even use and external tagging system such as del.icio.us and link directly to each tag.

For example take this page. I was trying to find out if they are real or faked. It would have been so much easier if I could flip through tags. Example tags would be house, structure, building, photograph, alone, and/or seclude. Additionally, they could tag their traditional true, false, multiple-truth-values, undetermined and unclassifiable-veracity. To search by adding tags together would be a great solution to the problem. I could find it much easier.

Aside from bad indexing, it's a great resource to sort out hoaxes from the real thing... IF you can find what you need to find.

As the new saying goes, "When in doubt, Snope it out."

Excellent free station. I use it while I'm playing games on the computer. It's SO relaxing and just plain nice.
