Do any of you read anymore, I mean really read, let alone follow links to sources. If you had, maybe you would have caught the line:
"...there has been a 26% decrease in the ratio of package-to-product used."
For those of us that read and understand statistics and ratios, this clearly means that less packaging is being used to hold the about the same amount of cereal, or, more likely, the exact same amount. Have any of you actually looked at the lining package inside a box of cereal and noticed how much empty space there was in that bag? Don't you think that the bag size can be reduced to get rid of that wasted space, thereby resulting in a smaller liner that results in less packaging holding the same, exact amount of cereal? Goddamn, I tend to be pessimistic, especially when it comes to corporations, but some of you conspiracy theorist naysayers put my ass to shame.
And to hell with you all-or-nothing mental midgets. If anything should have been taught to you in your history classes, it was this: human progress, especially positive progress, is slow, but if you wait for everything to be the way you envision it to be before moving forward, absolutely NO progress will be made. Human evolution, both physical and social, is a series of steps, not an overnight transformation. Stop being so fucking extreme and maybe you can enact more positive change in the world.
I am far from a corporate defender/hero, but, jesus, some of the people on this side of the fence are just as crazy as Dick Cheney is on the other side of the fence. And I am not talking political party lines either, as I would no more identify democrat than I would ever identify republican. Two sides of the same coin, but don't get me started there...
