At the moment I remain stuck in an awkward stage where I know what, once I've acquired enough knowledge, to throw every ounce of my intellectual strength at (artificial intelligence research), yet still have to make my way through the slow and inflexible institutions of high school and university education. So long as I'm in this position there's little value (at present) in spending every available hour poring over books on probability theory, programming and cognitive science. My stumbling reflects this, and will for the next several months.

Simply creepy. I'm probably not alone in mistrusting our large telecom corporations - especially since this wonderful business of unwarranted wiretapping - but for Viacom to demand users' IP addresses (and read toward the article's end for their really unreasonable demands) is a legal overreaction at best. At worst, this could be something a little darker than a copyright dispute.
