Personally I think that while it might be a nice, possbily long term dream for some in the party, the yuan becoming the main reserve currency is both highly unlikely and not exactly the best idea. Plus encouraging citizens to buy gold is not exactly a bell-weather (or is it bellweather?) in determining whether a country is aiming to corner the currency market
