Longtime attorney, narrow area of practice (representing the disabled and their interests), much interested in law & medicine; eclectic interests in my 'real' life, from the usual suspects - music, art, photography, astronomy, etc, to the truly important, including, but not limited to: economic fairness; equal rights for all; etc.
Unfortunately, as a consequence of 'Citizens United' (read: Conservative Corporate Citizens United') the overreaching, ill-decided Supreme Court Case recently handed down, every future election and initiative has been handed into the hands of the 'interested' wealthy and corporate America, while few of the good and important things will happen because few of the 'truly' concerned citizens have the wherewithal to stand beneath the mill stone of the unlimited, malignant, self-indulgent, power accumulation and retention that will bear true justice to its knees. All because - wait for it - corporations are 'PERSONS', therefore, have the inalienable 1st Amendment right to Free Speech. Give me a break. That interpretation, by a majority that alleges the Constitution is an inflexible document, inviolable in the extreme, is laughable.
It is fair to say, five (5) angry men in black robes do not speak for me!
