I am, among other things, a Computer Programmer. Who dabbles in spec-fiction. I have a thing for Zombies. And atomic explosions. I listen to a lot of music. And am succinct. ... Or not as the situation requires. :) Currently I'm assimilating everything SEO-related. Partly in support of webdev clients, but mainly in prep to an upcoming launch of an internally-developed web project for programmers. As time goes on my stumbles will most likely begin to encompass a wide variety of programming issues. And further along, more esoteric issues concerning Artificial Intelligence and the true underlying nature of Existence. You have been formally and properly forewarned.

Google has Matt Cutts. Yahoo has Laura Lippay. This is a very nice little backgrounder Bio on Yahoo's SEO Manager at large. With a few SEO tips from someone who'd know.

Good list of points not to forget while SEOing. Too many SEOs seem to fall into the trap of thinking of it as a sheer numbers game.

I'm not sure what the ultimate point of the blog is but I've been reading it none-stop for two pages. That's always a good sign. :) Actually, it's all about social news websites -- the stuff going on behind the scenes apparently.

Interesting. I agree that the term SEO as it is covers too much territory (some aspects of which you'd naturally want to distance yourself from). Breaking it up and redefining isn't a bad idea.

Del.icio.us is blocking search spiders now? Well, that will probably get added to a couple Top Ten Dumbest Moves in IT lists somewhere.

This is by far the best RSS reader for Windows I've ran across yet. (And a handy basic organizer for many things web-related). The only down-side is it seems the 'pro' version is now freeware (good) but the overall software project may not be subject to maintenance anymore (bad). The thought that it might be EOL (end-of-life) is a concern, but great software otherwise.
Backing Winds: How to Create Professional HDR Images

Good foundation article for getting started with HDR (high dynamic range photography). When getting shots for website design, it really helps to take your primaries in HDR so you can push out dark or washed out areas and get the images a better lighted feeling.

Aside from the obvious bias of #9 :), a nice basic list of general maintenance operations you can perform to cleanup/boost performance of your Windows machine.
