THE WAY THINGS ARE: The meaning of life is to be found in thinking about what is reality and the beauty of reality is to be found in our DNA's memorization of all forms that have been successfully retained along the four billion years of evolution of the principle of life on Gaia our earth. In the end what I mean to say is that beauty is something objective and what we call ugliness is then simply our unconscientious feel of something evolution did not retain.

    The plight of the artist.
    by laodan in Saatchi blogs.

Seen from a historical perspective the form taken by visual art has greatly evolved over time while its function has nevertheless remained constant, indeed, along 99.99% of its timespan visual art has been the visual representation of the worldview of the men of knowledge of the day at the attention of his fellow citizens.

With late modernity we witness an initial sketching of the road of humanity towards its future in the form of an interaction on a worldscale of 3 determinant factors that will gradually displace modernity:

    - a process of scientific revolutionizing that is churning out ever faster new "knowings" or bits of knowledge about the working of reality.

    - the impact of the side-effects of modernity on life on earth will definitely impact our ways of doing and thinking in the future.

    - globalization is expanding the frontiers of modernity to the whole world and as such we are assisting at a kind of radicalization of modernity that ultimately will project on the whole world the civilizational, cultural, societal and other values of 90% of the world population that was until now only experiencing the destructive impact on their traditional structures of a dominating European or Western modernity.

A vision is slowly sinking into my mind; under the urgent necessity of clarifying his own role the artist is slowly weaving the dress he'll be wearing later as a kind of shaman for postmodern times.

    Sound waves' variations.
    in laodan's gallery on einabems.com
A few months ago I saw a program on the net that transforms musical pieces into visual representations but I found the images very much unidimensional and very poor at meaning something. This, I guess, is what made me realize this "Sound waves".

    Sound waves. Ac-11 -12
Organic life in primitive soup. Ac-16-08
    Digital variations versus fractals

    Sound waves. Ac-11-12

Organic life in primitive soup. Ac-16-08

Because, in my digital variations, I start from a photo of an existing painting I never can reach the perfection of a machined straight line nor the perfection of a machined curve nor the perfection of a color transition. The imperfections that are resulting from a hand work are resulting from the communication between the eyes that see, the brain that decides and the hands that execute. The eyes do not necessarily register the exactitude of what they look at, the brain decides according to the preferences that we accumulated as a result of our past experiences and the hands can only do what they have been trained to do...

In fractals you are using a mathematical formula that you create or one that you borrow from someone else. The software calculates the parameters in the formula and the result is an image that can then be manipulated further through incremental changes applied to the formula. This process of incremental changes is automated in most of the available software so the art in creating fractals is to stop the process of change on the image that gives you the most satisfaction. In other words, this is where subjectivity finally has the last say...

Computer generated visual representations of music take away the subjectivity. The visualization is purely the result of a mathematical formula... and the result is like a commodity being churned out of an industrial process: perfection without substance, visual lobotomizing of the observer...

    Competitive growth
    in einabems.com
The urgence for more complexity is the strategic principle that life follows for perpetuating and developping itself. This concept is recent for sure, we have indeed been more accustomed to hear about the tactical principle of competitive growth.

Life survival is based on the tactical principle of competitive growth and its development is based on the strategic principle of complexification.

In human life, we know for a fact that life preservation is based on the tactical principle of competitive growth to satisfy the need for:
    - food and air for preserving the individual bodies.
    - sex for preserving the specie.
Life development results from the urge for more complexity that results from the interaction between the tactical principle of competitive growth with the following factors:
    - the complexification of the structure and code of the individual bodies.
    - the complexification of the social, economic and political systems.

    Emergence of life
    in einabems.com
""" This work pictures the dynamic of life creation or the emergence of uni-cellular organisms also called prokaryotes.

Prokaryotes are the original inhabitants of this planet, the first successful would have looked very like some of today's Archaea. Both Archaea and Bacteria evolved somewhere between 3 or 4 billion years ago as far as we are able to tell from the fossil record.

At least 2 billion years ago, ancestors of two diverse prokaryotic groups fused their genomes to form the first eukaryote or multi-cellular organism, and in the processes two different branches of the tree of life were fused to form the ring of life.

"Emergence of life" is my vision about the emergence of prokaryotes from where all the cycle of life is derived. """
