I think he has a point.
I won't go as far as saying that universities (in general and not only the humanity studies) got it all wrong but I share the idea that we should graduate as "capable and cultivated human beings". Not just skilled and specialised workers. The courses that I learned at university are not half as interesting as how university changed my way of thinking and perceiving the world.
