About the Drivers' Choice Challenge:

Let's be honest. Cars are just plain fun. We love to drive them. We love to dream about them. And, around here, we especially love to talk about them. And in all our tests, reviews and ratings - that happens a lot. Which got us thinking - we have our favorites, but what car would be America's favorite? Voila, the Drivers' Choice Challenge began.
How's it work?

Simple. It's like the basketball bracket you've probably got going. Only instead of filling out the whole bracket, you're voting on car match-up round by round. Each round lasts a specified time (see schedule), after which voting closes and we post the winners. The cars with the most votes win. The winners then advance to the next round and the cycle repeats itself until one lone champion remains.
Can I jump in at any time, or do I have to be in at the start?

As long as voting in that round is open, you can jump in at any time. And because people can vote in any given round, you can get your friends and family in on it, too. If you're, say, a Mustang lover, share it with fellow Mustang fans so they can get in on the voting.
Do I have to register?

Nope. But if you do, you can opt to receive bracket updates and/or Consumer Reports updates. Plus, if you register before April 4, 2011, you can enter to win a FREE iPad 2.
How'd you choose the cars?

We selected only makes and models that we've previously reviewed or tested. It's a broad range of cars, trucks and SUVs that most Americans either own or know about.
