I'm learning to trade stocks for a living. I used to reconcile stock orders on Wall Street; maintain gardens in Palo Alto, CA; cook and sell health foods in Princeton, NJ; program computers; and teach high school math.

I've been struggling to seek the deeper meaning of life for most of my life. The less I struggle and the more I pay attention to the lessons life continually teaches me, the more understanding I have ... sort of. Wisdom comes not so much from having great ideas but from abandoning bad ones.

The key to a happy life is be grateful for everything you have and to express that gratitude by being kind and considerate to others. When you fall short of goals you set for yourself, be kind to, and considerate of, yourself.
