Looking at the other reviews, I realize that this is a very personal tragedy for all Americans. My brother is an active duty officer. I always reflect on who the people are that are on the edge who finally crack. It seems like maybe when a whole group is under stress, the ill ones are the ones who cause pain like this.
Speaking of stress...I wonder if Muslims in general are feeling a growing sense of frustration. I have only one Muslim friend. I noticed him becoming quite agitated about 2 months ago. And started growing out his beard. And he said that 'times had changed'....that this was an era unlike the past. The statements didn't seem in line with Islam itself.....I just note these things and move on.
I had wondered how long it was going to be for the torture and other mean things to start causing stress fractures and agitation amongst a much larger group of people than this country now faces..
My feeling for about two years is that we are seeing 2 billion people not attacking the west.
Like I said, one friend doesn't define 2 billion, but he is a perfectly calm man. Seeing him agitated over some anti Islam speakers just got me wondering.
I don't take this incident to be any statement on Islam, whatsoever. I have just noticed a rise in frustration, in a completely reasonable friend. I just wonder how that frustration plays out in people not quite well, when a very large group of people start to get agitated.
