CACTUS MOTEL RESTORATION PROJECT ON ROUTE 66. Thanks '7HL' for this link. In the first quarter of 2008, the New Mexico Route 66 association, with funding provided by the National Park Service Route 66 Corridor Preservation Office, completed restoration of the historic Cactus Motel sign in Tucumcari on historic Route 66.

'THE BIG APPLE INN. JACKSON MISSISSIPPI. HOME OF THE PIG EAR SANDWICH. I had to find it and taste a pig ear sandwich. But with no name or directions, I figured I'd have hell finding it. So the next trip to my daughter's in Alabama, I decided to detour through Jackson and take the large-step-for-me of renting a motel room. That way I could get an early start the next morning

Andrew J. Borden bought the house at 92 Second Street to be close to his bank and various downtown businesses. The Bed & Breakfast is named after Andrew J. Borden's youngest daughter, Lizzie. Although she was tried and acquitted of the crimes she was ostracized by the community of Fall River.

BIZARRE SOCOTRA AFRICA. THE BIRTHPLACE OF ALIENS. Thanks 'rjj'. Welcome to the island Socotra in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa.
This is one of the most bizarre places on earth. The island is not like no matter what else and think that you are somewhere on another planet. It is believed that the archipelago has been isolated from mainland Africa last 6 - 7 million years that affected its flora and fauna.

MYSTERIOUS MIMA MOUNDS OF WASHINGTON STATE. SOUTH PUGET SOUND PRAIRIES. Many prairie enthusiasts believe that the wildflower displays of May and early June are the best times on the prairies. The acres and acres of purple camas flowers are always a sight. Yet each season has its draw. Spring has wildflowers and the possibility of a rare butterfly. Summer can also have fantastic butterfly displays and the hot dry days are a pleasure. Fall brings rains, a turn in the color of oak leaves and is a great time to help with a restoration project. The open skies of a sunny, winter morning or afternoon can make a visit worthwhile. ["these mounds 'thousands of them' are about 15 miles from our home. Thousnds of years old and a mystery. UNUSUAL AND STRANGE KUTNA HORA BONE CHURCH. This bone church is located in Kutna Hora, a few miles outside of Prague in the Czech Republic. Officially called the Sedlec Ossuary, it is often just referred to as "the bone church" and contains over 40,000 bones arranged to decorate this Roman Catholic Church.
