Wikimapia - Lets describe the whole world!

This is a really excellent and ambitious idea: describe the whole world. Using google maps data, this site overlays user-defined areas onto the maps that contain descriptions of the contents of that location. The submissions are all anonymous, but there's a system in place to vote for the authenticity of the desciption, much like urbandictionary uses. It's still kind of buggy, though - the locations were all shifted slightly right on map and sometimes dialog boxes wouldn't disappear. There's also almost no information on how to use it, even simple things like selecting a single defined area, filtering out the rest and generating a link to that page. Tons of potential, though.
Heh. I was just trying to remember the name of a place I knew the general (but not specific) location of and I found it on the map. It's interesting because it's a different, non-specific way of getting information from a computer - it doesn't require an address or a name.
