From the page: "For firms that want to remain competitive in this new age, where the velocity of information is exponentially growing, they need the systems in place to make sense of this real-time information," says Sam Huleatt, chief executive of Workstreamer, a service aimed at helping managers make informed decisions as they are confronted with huge volumes of real-time information from their workforce."

My half of the presentation focuses on what venture capitalists and angel investors are looking for (hint; not a traditional business plan!)

Workstreaming refers to a new model of business process enabled by the creation of workstreams, i.e. digital footprints[1] and activity trails formed during work-related collaboration and communications. Workstreams and workstreaming are made possile through the use of specific technologies and the movements toward more open, distributed and accountable business processes. Workstreaming is a best practice of social business design (SBD).

This is a screenshot from WeFeelFine, an "exploration of human emotion" created by Jonathan Harris. In my opinion, such data is the future of the web; a real time snapshot of how people are feeling, being and living.

So what emotions were people feeling this morning at 9am EST, following Barack Obama's historic Presidential win? `Peaceful' at 45.9 times normal levels and `Hopeful' at 43.7 times normal.

Don't Let The Dishes Soak | Leveraging Ideas
Sep 30, 2008 10:00am    (2 reviews)  economics, economy, advice  http://www.leveragingideas.com/2008/09/3...
One of the things I have always struggled with is why anyone would let the dishes `soak.' To me it's simply an excuse to delay the inevitable: cleaning the dishes and putting them away.

We often use this same approach in many different areas of life. We delay paying bills, delay having crucial conversations or even delay in asking for what we REALLY want. In an economy like this, it's not the guys who beat-around-the-bush who are going to keep companies or investment opportunities moving forward. No. The persons most likely to succeed are those who ask for what they want, evaluate opportunities rationally and execute on the possible, not the probable. It's about leadership and initiative.

If you're letting the dishes soak, suck it up and get it done.
