so my fishies now have Ick, well not all of them, all 6 neons and the sickly silver molly do. I'm treating my tank right now, and I'm in phase 1 of 3. Hopefully all will be well, especially since apparently the type of fish I'm treating are said to be very sensitive to this particular treatment. This to date seems to be the most finicky and peskiest pet I've had.

I love the look of a tie on a man, but every time my bf asks me to help him tie his I sheepishly confess that I dont know how. Who knew there were so many ways to tie it? I like the "Pratt" knot slightly better than the classic "double winsdor"

One of the cooler presents that I received this xmas is this 14 gallon fish tank. Let it be known that I've never had a fishtank ever before in my life, I had no idea how much work/reading this involved. I do love my little fishies though, and I'm so thankful that my cat and my housemate's kitten haven't taken an interest in it (yet)! If anybody that sees this knows anything about keeping a tropical freshwater tank, I'd loooove any advice or tips. So far I've stocked the tank with 6 neon tetras, 2 glowlight tetras (I had 3, but 1 died), 2 colored snow tetras ( seen in the pictures, 1 is pink, the other blue), and 1 sickly acting lyretail molly. Eventually I plan on adding maybe 1 or 2 fancy-tailed guppy and a catfish, but I'm letting the tank get acclimated for now.

The glass frog is endangered, as well. And absolutely stunning, so it would be a shame if we let it die out. Note the visible organs in this beautiful specimen. Unfortunately, with tropical rainforests in Central and South America threatened (in some places, the problem is actually worse than it was in previous decades), the glass frog may go extinct.

Although I find that reading lengthy material via the internet causes my eyeballs to burn and my vision to cross, this is a great listing of free books. It even has my favorite book of all time, The Alchimist!
