From the page: "In a case titled Citizens United, the five decreed that -- shazam! -- lifeless corporate entities are henceforth "persons" with more electioneering rights than ... well, us real-life persons."
as well as the streets - a perceivable movement...
Eventually, the status quo will get scared and clamp down.
Due to government regulations and standard changes the information may change.
From the page: "Schmidt has been fighting for the right to provide raw milk at his Grey County farm ever since it was raided by government officials in 1994. The recent ruling convicts Michael on 15 of 19 charges and reverses last year窶s lower court decision to acquit him of all charges. This latest judicial ruling basically endorses governmental interference of property ownership rights and violates basic human rights to food freedom.
Since this ruling, Michael has embarked on a hunger strike and faces imminent danger of another raid to his farm, as do other farms that participate in Cowshare Canada."
as in jumping through hoops . . .
From the page: "Journalism in the public interest" - USA; Canada needs a franchise lol
From the page: "Many of us who support Schmidt have become so accustomed to his calm demeanor and decency in the face of the government outrages that we can easily overlook that he is also a farmer, a businessman, a scientist, a loyal and productive Canadian citizen--a guy trying to live his life. Yet he's been treated like a lowlife, a terrible criminal, someone not even worthy of a rational conversation with about such supposedly important issues as food safety. And based on the Ontario court's reversal of his exoneration in 2010, he has many more years of such treatment to look forward to.
What's even more startling is that he's not alone. Other farmers in Canada have been treated this way, as have farmers and some of their associates across the United States. "
From the page: "Michael窶s urgent message: We must mobilize our forces throughout Canada and the US with an enormous public outcry. We need to put relentless pressure on legislators in both countries窶"national, state and local窶"and also on health authorities through a massive letter-writing and call-in campaign. We also need to organize face-to-face meetings whenever possible. Canada desperately needs US support in these matters, so we encourage all US members to send messages to key Canadian contacts as well."
Criminalize usury. Educated thinking citizens are good for the country and the global community, which needs to prioritize education funding.
What about the corporations who profit from selling 'fats'? What about the healthy fats - proven through science? What about considering the role of poverty in health issues? Governments need to use ALL information to make these kinds of decisions. This would be another concern addressed by the "Occupy" movement...
In general there is a problem with the power western society has given the allopathic medical system. Doctors do not update their skills and knowledge and seem to have no ideas about appropriate tests and treatments.
From the page: "But what government agency, or agencies, is allowing this epidemic of drug abuse, addiction and death to continue to manifest itself throughout the U.S. and Canada? Having been told by a Federal Drug Administration (FDA) official years ago that they did not have the "manpower to police Purdue Pharma", it now seems that no one was policing the DEA as they opened the floodgates in the production of narcotics -- allowing the pharmaceutical companies to reap their financial rewards."
How doctors in Canada are supposed to make their medical recommendations. As a patient, I demand information about all health care alternatives, alternative as well as allopathic; and i expect my doctor to consult with ME first.
From the page: "There are no restrictions for foods labeled âoenaturalâ (very basic standards exist only for meat products). The term often constitutes nothing more than meaningless marketing hype promoted by corporate interests seeking to cash in on the consumer desire for food produced in a genuinely sustainable manner.
Unlike the organic label, no government agency, certification group or other independent entity fully defines the term âoenaturalâ on processed food packages or ensures that the claim has merit."
From the page: "Lisa trains people to confront abusive power with nonviolence. She believes in the power of ordinary people to organize, take action, and change the systems that oppress them, and works tirelessly to support such efforts wherever she finds them."
From the page: "Boian Alexandrov at the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico recently published an abstract with colleagues, âoeDNA Breathing Dynamics in the Presence of a Terahertz Field â that reveals very disturbingâ"even shockingâ"evidence that the THz waves generated by TSA scanners is significantly damaging the DNA of the people being directed through the machines, and the TSA workers that are in close proximity to the scanners throughout their workday."
Something's happening, ain't it...social underpinnings (e.g. separation of church and state)
Splenda? Sucralose? Why the names? It is an artificially constructed profit-making item. Don't let them suck you in. I really have to get a better water filter...
