I'm surprised Zahara didn't just explode with fireworks and lollipops (and honey) the instant this photo was snapped. We all know she's been adopted by arguably the World's Best Looking Humans. She will never want. That word won't even be in her vocabulary until maybe the day she learns Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is" and even then it's only like a 30% chance she'll get it.

But get this:  The Edge comes along, looking homeless like Jesus, reaches out his hand to her and smiles. On the beach. It's a wonder her skin could contain the beatific joy.

Little known fact: You can whistle "Where the Streets Have No Name" to the tune of "Three's Company." It helps if you don't know one of the songs. Or either.

And now back to my regularly scheduled Edge Lovefest, '09.

I'm so in love with this record it's not even funny. It's seasonal, it's tacky, it's got nothing that sounds like bells. And shoot if it don't make me wanna wear silk slippers and sniff brandy. Or drive the California coastline in a convertible which is probably the least Christmassy thing ever but I'm willing to live with that if it means more of a jaunty "Favorite Things" or even that poor "Bell That Wouldn't Jingle."

This will make Thanksgiving all the merrier. And they sell it just down the block from us.

"Tell Me I'm the One You Want" has so far (7 songs later) been my favorite.  It's goofy as heck and takes the seriousness out of RHCP.  Meanwhile, I Rick-rolled a buddy by playing "Don't You Ever Give Up Wanting Me Baby" and sent a Jay-z fan "Neun und Neunzig Problems."

Very entertaining.  And coming from an a-ha fan, "Take It Easy On Me" is getting a few more go-arounds.

UPDATE:  "Like a Life on a Prayer" is sweet!  I'm gonna have to check out some Nina Simone if her music is really like that cause it makes me wanna wear black and grow really skinny from smoking too many cigarettes.

Yeah, that's pretty much a standard Hallowe'en for me.  And I don't want to know anybody who'd take death from a product called "Go Girl."  (70.53 cans.)

Top 10 lists of the year always fascinate me because it's a bit of a time capsule to look back on and study in years to come. Also, it's really dorky and trivial. Thus, I love it. Having a list of the new words of 2009 is almost as fun as learning Crayola named a new color.
