Interesting little article here, and I agree with what the author says. As the mom of a "musical prodigy," I have heard countless times, and even said myself, that my daughter has "a musical gift" - but the more I think back on how she has spent most of her life, it's all about hard work and dedication. She got the spark of music, and she diligently followed up on it from the age of 2 (yes, two, that is not a typo).
Time for credit to be given where credit is due. People who are "gifted" in music bought and paid for that gift with their own sweat.
