I'm a Brit waiting to emigrate. In the meantime I spend time watching films, supporting Everton, listening to music, reading sci-fi and fantasy, and gaming. I've been working as a web designer and related roles for about seven years now, following on from several years working in Japan as a teacher and a recruitment consultant. I recently realized a long held ambition by starting up my own web design and development business.

Here's an article about a personal experience in trying to unplug at home just for a weekend, and how tough it was. Good read, with some important conclusions about time and creativity.

Interesting article on the negative aspects of retweeting on Twitter. Reasonably strongly against retweeting, arguing that it doesn't add significantly to the conversation.

I don't agree with the article's point, but is a well written and insightful alternative viewpoint.
