There are some truly creative advertising examples on this site. Definitely a place to get great ideas and to appreciate those of others. I selected this image because I was an ATM specialist in the years right after they became popular and one of the most common questions was whether there was someone in those machines running them.
Humorous incidents often occurred when I was servicing them. If I had the gate off for replacement people would often repeatedly put their ATM card in no matter how often I pushed it back out to them and even after I spoke to them. Sometimes I would write a note on a receipt card and push it out to them suggesting they visit the next closest ATM machine and telling them where it was.
When someone would bang on the machine because it wasn't working I would ask them politely not to do that. One time someone kept banging so I said "Ouch...that hurts!" and they thought the machine was talking to them and quit.
One incident that could have been on America's Funniest Videos was a taped attempted robbery of one machine. You could see the would-be thief pointing a shot-gun at the machine and demanding money. When the machine didn't comply the thief shot at the machine. Since they have bullet-proof glass (and the money is in a safe on the other side anyway on that model) the shot-gun pellets sprayed back at the thief. Instant Karma?
