    GMC, Geoff, & Justin,

From the page: "We think eBay is a great fit for us because eBay and StumbleUpon share similar approaches - we're both driven by our community of users, and we are both dedicated to connecting people.

We also want you to know that not much will change around here. We'll be running StumbleUpon separately within eBay Inc., and we'll still be focused on developing features based on your feedback. "

You probably already know you're more optimistic about this than many of your SU users are. I consider that an indication that SU was different and listened and responded more to their users than ebay and other sites do.

I am not automatically opposed to advertising because I see it as a way for the many to be compensated for their contributions without having to directly charge for them.

I see that as a step into a future where money is no longer central to existence. Some - like Jessica Jahiel who has a wonderful free and highly recommended horse related newsletter at horse-sense.org [horse-sense.org] - have been living that future for years now.

I hope that you truly will be able to keep SU on a balanced path of focusing on excellence instead of the maximizing of income.

Income is not "bad" - advertising is not "bad" - only when the "love of money" becomes the driving force and most heavily weighted factor in decisions does it usually lead where many of us hope you won't go.

To the best for you and us all.
