Delicious is a tag-based bookmarking web service that allows you to organize your favorite links, access them from anywhere, share (or hide) your bookmarks individually, and browse others' bookmarks based on tags (keywords) and tag-bundles (keyword categories or subjects).
The Delicious Bookmarks add-on for Firefox isn't required but I consider it essential for daily use, like the stumbleupon add-on.
Some people prefer to use Delicious like they would stumbleupon, where you tag a plethora of sites you're not likely to return to. However, I suggest only tagging sites you personally want to return to again at some point. Temporary or once-only sites would be better saved in your local bookmarks or using a site like Instapaper. That way you'll have less garbage to sift through later on.
I also suggest you keep tags per bookmark to a minimum, be specific and reduce redundancy. It'll help in the long run. Expect to make some changes to tags as you get used to the site. Tags can be renamed, deleted and categorized in bundles.
(the site offers importing/exporting bookmarks, privacy options, and RSS feeds)
