This site is a great source of inspiration from quotes, proverbs, stories and poems from the many wisdom traditions of the world.

When I first saw this site I was reminded of The Sun magazine, which has collections of quotes and excerpts of books on a different theme each month, called "Sunbeams." That was always my favorite part of the magazine (besides the stories, of course!), since there were always such a great mix of clever, funny, sad, absurd, heartfelt and thought-provoking quotes.

Similarly, Wisdom Commons has a wide range of excerpts (quotes, proverbs, stories etc) that will make you laugh, cry and genuinely think.

You can browse user submitted "wisbits", distilled bits of wisdom excerpted from a range of sources. Each wisbit belongs to virtues such as forgiveness, ethics, compassion, integrity, patience and so on.

The site offers an RSS feed for each virtue, so you can subscribe to wisbits from virtues that interest you or that you want to cultivate in your personality.

This site is a dream come true for visual inspiration. If you are visually oriented at all, get ready for hours upon hours of heaven at this smorgasbord of found images from around the web, submitted by an exclusive invitation only group of designers, photographers, artists and other aficianados of the visual form.

You can also browse photos by location, which is great for finding photos of all kinds, but especially nature photos. This is great for photographers because they can promote their work, see others' work, and find good locations to shoot that they may not have been aware of previously. It's also useful for non-photographers who just want to plan a scenic trip. Highly recommended!
