Ready made, complete operating systems in virtual-hard-drive format... In other words, you install something like the free VirtualBox from Oracle, and simply load one of the files on this site which includes a complete, virtual, OS. Modern PCs can cope quite happily, it's not emulation, and the virtual OS can be given hardware control to the internet etc. An ideal way to play with, well, mostly linux versions here without the hassle of installing the CD. There's a slight emphasis on privacy, since running a private linux in a virtual box - especially if encrypted - is quite protective.

Googles Appstore for Chrome - cloud run services, such as the usual Google offerings (Maps, Mail, Docs, etc) to the more exotic such as complete MMORPG games. Chrome is needed. Originally intended for, and essential for, Chromebooks (cloud laptop terminals) it's now full of all kinds of extensions, tools, games, and more. Some may only be front-end links to other sites, others incorporate completely into chrome. E.G. You can add Stumbleupon from there.

Another excellent site in Android Tablets (or Slates) (or Slabs!). Everything from the Apple Pad to the ZePad (chinese pad from Zenithink, I have one... review from my Google+ in my profile). This site covers the obscure tablets a little more and includes lively communities for certain devices.

Excellent site for Android Tablet users, including the more obscure ones. It can be a minefield, especially with Chinese imports, but there's also cheap bargains if you discover you don't *really* need an iPad, Galaxy Tab, or whatever... See also SlateDroid.com - adding next!
