One musician from the orchestra said: "He guides the orchestra, while a lot of conductors just perform." Now quite some of todays conductors who explain their musicians how they should play (or not play) their instruments (when they *@#$%^&* very well know how to play their instruments...) have to rethink their habits in treating their musicians (to put it mildly). I am talking specifically about 1 Dutch conductor (conducting a Dutch orchestra), and a conductor who conducted a world class orchestra in the Netherlands for 16 years...Now all you conductors in the world: every morning when you get up, take a good look in the mirror and repeat this 3 times with me, sloooowly and conscious: "I love to give to the musicians a place where they can be free." Excellent!! That wasn't that hard, was it...?
