Kate is a 19 year old woman from Houston, TEXAS, USA

I am a sophomore at Rice University (Hanszen College!!!) in Houston, TX, but I am originally from a small town in northeast Ohio. Academically, I kind of like everything, from philosophy to physics and engineering to english/literature. I'm pretty eclectic, but I'm majoring in bioengineering. My passions are my horse, Chancee, and barrel racing/pole bending. I'm not a fan of stereotypes, and I try to break free of typical assumptions and expectations of teenage girls. I think I might be pretty intelligent, but in actuality, who knows? I served as a district-level pledged delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention, which was one of the greatest experiences of my life! In my head I am Agnostic, but in my heart I am an Atheist. This past summer I was a kid's camp horseback riding instructor, and I adored my work! I like the outdoors. I play trombone decently, but nothing special. Music is a big part of my life and concerts and festivals are pretty much the greatest times ever.
