Businesses working on becoming better global citizens.
Business needs to become wholistic and integral with deeper more comprehensive purposes.

Corporations must rethink why they exist. Business owners/entrepreneurs can view their business as an complex and evolving interdependent system and manage their business more consciously for the well-being of all their major stakeholders while fulfilling their highest business purpose.

In summation, business is fundamentally a community of people working together to create value for other people, their customers, employees, investors, and the greater society. Business interacts within a harmony of interests.

Non-profits need to become economically sustainable. A holistic perspective is essential for non-profits.

A new Conscious Capitalism paradigm will improve the effectiveness of each type of organization.


On a basic philosophical level, try to "do good" in the world. Pursuit of our own self-interest enough. We need to look more closely again at what Adam Smith wrote. The Wealth of Nations was a tremendous achievement, but economists would also be well served to read Smith's other great book, The Theory of Moral Sentiments.

There he explains that human nature is not just about self-interest. It also includes sympathy, empathy, friendship, love, and the desire for social approval. As motives for human behavior, these are at least as important as self-interest; for many people, they are more important.

Go beyond egocentrism and ... care about others.

Our capacity to love can expand ... to unlimited love for all people and even for other sentient creatures. ...

Our potential as human beings, is to take joy in the flourishing of people everywhere.

Let us each realize our potential for deeper love and extend it out into the world.

WEL, World Elder Land is about nurturing a better quality of life for elders, caregivers and communities where elders live. Our programs and services are provided in ENGLISH and SPANISH. Our programs; evidence-based practice interventions, non pharmacological therapies, therapeutic recreation interventions, lectures, educational sessions, whole-person-center wellness programs, health care continuing education, in services, intergenerational events and publications, are designed, tested, implemented and evaluated by all community members. WEL certified homes and services are to be designed to nurture wholistic ways of living; body, mind, spirit and nature as our extended body.

ERT and BWCA are very important components of the services that WEL provides.

Everyone is invited to co-create together a better world where elders are better care for and actively included as valuable members of our communities. As one of our elders recently said during a talk about happiness and its relation to health, "It is foolish not to be happy." WEL better ways is an invitation to nurture and share a happy, meaningful and inclusive world for our elders and everyone, including animals and nature.
