Carol is a 65 year old woman from Mogadore, Ohio, USA
When I was young and my family would hop into our '51 Ford for a roadtrip, I would squeeze into the back seat with my 2 older brothers armed with our comics and we would trade and bicker and carry on and then every once in awhile my mother would reach around through the cigarette haze and backhand all 3 of us at once. Since then I'm proud to have seen and been through many changes, some of which are reflected here in my pages. Many of my beliefs are contrary to those of my cherished friends and so I say that they are just this, my opinions which are given in the spirit of openness, rather than to in any way alienate those who would come here. Lastly, if you don't click on everything you see, you're missing out on the best part, so try to slow down and enjoy. Blow up the screen, crank up the volume and welcome to my world :-)

call "friendly", meaning we open our doors to gays and we embrace them not as aliens, but as our neighbors. I've pretty much stayed out of the fray, for my upbringing has dictated one thing, while basic instinct tells me that my little church is standing up in a way that matters. This evening then, venturing out into the snow on a bad night to hear a lecture on the "Jesus, The Bible And Homosexuality", wasn't heading up my list of favored activities. First choice would have been the couch but I was duty-bound to show up, for choir was scheduled to sing. We have gays in the church, I love them all, but why must we dwell on it? At the same time, it's bothersome to see all of the friction building between these two factions on the nightly news. I don't like being portrayed as narrow minded and uptight, even though I am, so enter The Rev. Dr. Jack Rogers, author of this book (link) and proponent for the Christian LGBT element and add to that the largest attendence we've lately seen that didn't involve food. I was immediately struck with his compassion for those who would be left out and his ability to weed through passage after passage with a probing intellect which dared to reinterpret and challenge the status quo. Of course the beauty of the Bible is just this . . complexity addressed by simplicity . . . love God, love your neighbor. Easy enough for meRated • 0 reviews • jazz • lembobineuse.biz
