"Why of course the people don't want war. Why should some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece? Naturally the common people don't want war neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." -Hermann Goering

"population control is now called family planning"
The important difference between the two ideas is choice. People choose to plan their families. But people do not have a choice when they're being "population controlled". All family planning does is allow people to wait until they're ready to have kids, making the tools (condoms, birth control pills, etc.) more easily available.

Hehe, funny crazy conspiracy theorists. And one of their predictions already hasn't come true. It's after 2008 and I still don't have my national ID card.

From the page: If the US government has guns, why shouldn't the people have the right to own them, too? Is the government really more responsible than we are?

Um, the government also has nuclear warheads, fighter jets, missiles, who knows what else. I don't see anyone claiming we should distribute these to the masses. Or even letting the general public make them on their own.

I can see micro projectors becoming standard on small devices eventually, but that IR keyboard... not so much. Tactile feedback is too important. It will probably make it in the market, but not as a standard usage type of thing.

76.) Does your novel have characters? LIKE WE HAVEN'T SEEN THAT IN EVERY OTHER FANTASY NOVEL! Hahahahahahaha. *please love me*

Every author takes themes from other works of literature, especially within their genre. And if it's done in moderation and something new and entertaining is contributed that's not a bad thing.

Here's a few of the worst:
28.) Is this the first book in a planned trilogy?
29.) How about a quintet or a decalogue?
So... you either can't plan it.... or it can only contain 2,4,6,7,8,9, and 11+ books... odd.
61.) Does your hero fall in love with an unattainable woman, whom he later attains?
Basically the plot of every romantic comedy ever...

Although I must say, one series that doesn't break any of the rules on this list as far as I can tell, is the Saga of Recluse. Although I haven't read all of it yet, and it's not my favorite work of fantasy, it tends to avoid the standard fantasy generalizations.

From the page: If you write in your exam book that
carbon and hydrogen combine to form oak, your professor will flunk
you. He wants you to come up with the same answer he and all the
other chemists have agreed on. Scientists are extremely snotty about
    this.

And.... and this is a bad thing? It you're going to major in Chemistry, you're likely trying to get a job later on that depends on these facts. And these facts aren't just arbitrary snippets of knowledge. They can be extrapolated into overarching ideas crucial to more in depth understanding of a subject. It's like thinking that in order to learn to add, you have to memorize the addition of every 2 possible numbers without extrapolating the idea.

Just because you learned nothing in college, doesn't mean that everyone is stupid. Just you.
