Donnie is a man from Kailua Kona, Hawaii, USA

When the shards and fragments of what had once been Dr. Donald B. MacGowan washed-up on the shores of Kona, Hawaii, they were magically transformed into DrBlizzardo--washed away in warm tropical currents was the internationally-recognized scientist; gone was the one-time punk rock recording nobody; gone was the aspiring rock climber, the telemark ski addict, the big mountain afficianado, the reciter of Jack Kerouac, Gary Snyder and Richard Brautigan poems, the kayaker of big rivers and angry streams.

DrBlizzardo quietly and humbly inhabits Kailua Kona, doing environmental good works, surfing the be-jeezis out of the local waves and occasionally writing first-rate political commentary for the local papers that has recently been lauded as: "Ignorant", "Arrogant" and "Totally Insane".

You may say what you wish about him, DrBlizzardo does not care. For somewhere underneath those swaying palm trees, in those warm aloha breezes, DrBlizzardo is far too busy praying for good surf to hear...
