Evangelion's been on the cover of rolling stone in japan? not that that necessarily means anything, much less anything good?
incidentally Rebuild of Evangelion 2.0 should be coming down the dvd pipe not too long from now; technically, you 'should' watch 1.0 first; this would give you a solid plot context but honestly it's tempting to dismiss as straight-up forgettable action, although with one undeniably creative visual effect... but if we must condense eva, the last thing we want to do is to make if boring.
so p2p the DVD of 2.0 when it comes out. there's so much insanity in this movie that it will grab people, and grab people again, and by the end - like 20 solid minutes where how can you look away; it's just sheer visual and auditory insanity. how can you not watch it? how can you not be like "WTF is that shit. WTFF is going on"? It enters a level of visual style on such a grandiose scale; suffice it to say; watch it. I've enjoyed a lot of anime; eva* is the only one that I think every online literate should be aware of.
(*originally 26 22-min eps and 1.5 feature films; being remade as four features, 1.0-?)
the cam that currently exists is not worth watching; the visuals are massacred. none-the-less I have watched it several times; it is pretty good for a cam.
oh yeah: no dubings. no. not for this; it just won't work. trust me.
