Well good. People seem to forget that adults - not just kids - go missing and vanishing as well. Glad to see this.

    Breaking News!
    Former Teen Pop Star Ages

Wow. You mean a persons look *aren't* supposed to change in 25 years and this person is some deviant freak for having the nerve to grow into her age with dignity?

Wow. No wonder We have an anti-aging pandemic on face creams, plastic surgery, make-up, and age inappropriate clothing. You media people are cold-blooded aren't you? I'd love to see the "young hottie" who wrote this piece!

Her make-up free face exposed her weather-worn looks, and clearly her work outdoors as a gardener has taken its toll on her once fresh-faced look.
Right. Because 25 years on earth from a once 17 yr old, would have nothing to do with her looking any differently. Damn gardening!

Long Workweeks Keeping Americans Up Late

It seems people are also trying to squeeze in more time for themselves and their families, even if it means less sleep. The average wake up is at 5:35 a.m. and it's followed by about two hours and 15 minutes at home before heading out to work, according to the survey. Average bedtime is 10:53.

    Praise People
My Comments on this Inspiring Article...

When immune to the opinions of others [positive as well as negative] then freedom. Until then, yes. Praise people while they are alive and measure your criticism of others with the amount of business it is of yours; ie, Criticize only to the extent of criticism you want back in this world. Because that's what you *will* get back.

To *overcome* negative perceptions that have been thrust upon you without your consent, I advise to lavish genuine praise upon everyone you encounter. Passing along the negative criticism to others only garners more back into your direction.

A perfect example to remember that, as people, we do "not" fight fire with fire...but with water. [Leave fire-lines to the firemen.]

    • In lavishing praise, make sure it's genuine. False flattery is transparent and people view it suspiciously. They, then, may not trust you. [I wouldn't.]
    • Every person you will ever encounter has something praiseworthy about them. If you cannot see it, you are probably not looking well enough.
    • If you can't find a compliment to pay, then pay nothing; Unless of course you want to owe a karmic debt.
    • Let someone "overhear" a compliment. Yes, its mischievous but think about how you'd feel if you overhead someone praising you.
    • Above all... Never criticize a person's humanity. That's almost unforgivable because then you're criticizing a person's very own personal path and experiences.

So because I know how to drive a car and carry on a meaningless conversation, and because I have stupid opinions that are barely my own business much less anyone else's, this means I'm not "brain-disordered?" Oh ha! Humans and their idle judgements and pointless observations. That is something worthy of dissection!

    Crying Rape over Regret
    Another Backlash Against Feminism

From ElleDark: I know some girls younger than me read my pages so heres my totally unsolicited and probably unwanted advice. Have some self-respect. Being falling-over drunk after a party is about as glamorous as a bad bout of diarhhoea. In fact few things are more boring and tedious and less sexy than a drunk girl (except maybe a drunk guy). And if you wake up in the morning with some suspicious sticky patches because you were so blotto the previous night that sleeping with Frankensteins monster seemed like a good idea, well tough honey. Deal with it. Don't pretend to be a victim after the event if you weren't. Sure, have a few drinks, have a great time, but don't get into a state where you do recklessly stupid things, because if you do then you've only got yourself to blame if you don't like the consequences.

I am so glad another woman has put it out there. I have tried. ::sigh:: Now, let me add to the story and the "feminist angle" with my own.

Being a recovering alcoholic and female, I made some alcohol-induced mistakes in my time. Believe me. And yes, where sex was involved as well. I felt like crap, self-esteem took a dive, disrespect for my temple was in effect, and every other thing that goes with the cyclic chronic drinking and chronically bad choices. It is amazing I got out alive.

With all that said, ladies-who-drink-and-party-and-some-too-much-perhaps, the constant I hear from women in my recovery circles is: "I was raped." They weren't. But in their mind, it makes sense they were. I have sponsored/mentored some of these women and the perception is so ingrained that it's okay to have regrets and then cry foul when you sober up.

Not so. 2K feminism, however, is not on my side and this is a travesty. True feminism is responsibility. It's giving me credit to make mistakes and take responsibility for those bad choices. Feminism is supposed to release my *need* to be a victim in my destiny. So, in a nutshell, the feminist movement in society that advocates "loose sex" as rape or "drunken consent and/or drunken participation" as rape, does no favors for women. Seriously.

Who even winces at hearing "rape" anymore? Unless it's a stranger attack on a woman or a gang-rape incident I hardly wince. My first thought is always, "She's probably regretted it and now here she is." or "He rejected her romantically after their one-night stand and now she's mad."

See how this works? No favors.

    Thanks Elle.
