I've designed,repaired, and trained people on the lightwave and microwave telecommunications equipment sold to MCI, Sprint, and Bell Telephone which carries Internet traffic.
With this insight, I ended up owning the second .com network on the Internet in 1995, bistar.com! See whois: bistar.com to confirm. I built it from scratch. The other .com was in Hong Kong. Everything else was .gov and .edu running gopher servers.
Oh well, I guess coming in second is okay. I'm not fast and I'm not slow, I'm just kind of half-fast. ;^)
