"Waaaaaahhhhh...I'm a liberal and invading other countries and killing innocent people really bother me....waaaaahhh!"
Okay, look - When countries invade other countries, it's typically to take it for themselves to sap its' resources, set up its' own infrastructure, and reap all benefits for the benefit of their home country. We DID go over there, set up a political infrastructure that works, and handed the country back over to the people who reside there. Why? That is for you to do your own research on. Hussein was mustard-gassing his own people, being a real shit to the UN, allowing terrorists to infiltrate his country, etc. just a few reasons. Admittedly, I wish we would have focused more energy on Afghanistan earlier, but that's another bone to pick. There were mounting tensions with Iraq which would have put them in better position than Iran is now to be a threat to us in coming years.
It really baffles me that these liberals on here crying would sit and watch their own neighbor get beaten and raped but stay away because "That's not my yard!" - We did a great humanitarian service to Iraq. People die. That's war, but at least now those people have hope and the freedom to maintain a democracy. Not helping these people sounds really twisted to me. You help people by helping them set up an infrastructure, not by dropping 'aid' packages on them and saying, "Gee...I hope they're okay!" It's teaching a man how to fish for himself, not just handing him fish that a big bully on the block will just steal from them anyway. Anyway, good read...great points.
