So I liked this idea. I enjoyed reading it. I'd have liked to listen to more of these ideas. Yet I don't know where to start. Where's the author? Though they aren't my favorite, I'm usually OK with the text pics that float around SU. An acknowledgment of the source, however, is indispensable here.
If I want to know who was born on my birthday, I get about three famous names. If I want to know who died, a website like this will supply fifty. Am I the only one mildly bothered by this? WTF?

Ironically, I have too much to say about this article to fit it into the space allotted by SU.
The internet is more of a societal climb away from the television than a fall from books. For me and for others I know, the internet has completely destroyed the desire to be mindless TV watchers. Scanning information is not incompatible with deep thought. Deep thought comes from experience and reflection which gives way to hypotheses. (Scientific method = intuition + experimentation, a la Einstein). People read to find strong guiding voices, not just rich content. Within this search, a picture is still worth a thousand words. continued here...
