I have been getting a lot of twitter malware links tonight that uses a pretty simple browser based exploit that is easily caught by just about any anti-virus. But tonight malware links are making the rounds, and unfortunately they are going everywhere. So far have about 3 accounts I follow in the comic book community sending malware shortened links right now as direct messages.

Brandon Jerwa is a man of many talents, one of them being a writer of comic books. The many comics he has worked on include: Transmetropolitan: All Around the World (!), a variety of G.I. Joe titles, Hack/Slash/Eva: Monster's Ball, Battlestar Galactica, Xena, Highlander, and so very many others. If that isn't enough to make your inner geek instantly respect him, then you are a really hard person to please. What if I was to tell you that amongst those many talents I alluded to before, Mr. Jerwa is in the process of making a documentary about the inner workings of the comic biz titled Untold Tales of the Comic Industry? Sounds like a very intriguing project doesn't it? Here is a brief description of the project from the official Kickstarter page:

This is a project that is worth supporting and we are in to this project majorly as an organization. So help the industry and Brandon because there is less than two days left to support this project and they are just a little short of their overall goal.

I had the chance this weekend to go to the Seattle Fantagraphics store and get a sneak preview of Hooked on Comix 3 by Filmmakers David P. Moore and Audry Mandelbaum. Hooked on Comix is a short series of movies that focus on individual authors in the independent and underground scene. Hook on Comix 3 features the lovely Dame Darcy and always-entertaining Tony Millionaire. I have this thing about Dame Darcy by the way, and Tony Millionaire was new to me, and worth discovering as a new author for me. I have not seen his work before, and yes I did go check out some of his other stuff because of the movie.

This documentary takes a look at the comic industry from the inside out, guided by writers, illustrators, editors, distributors, Hollywood storytellers, and global fans of the art form. You'll see the genesis of our shared love of comics, and explore the inspirations that keep creators running. You'll learn what these creators love about the industry today, and what they hope to see improved for the industry's survival tomorrow.
