Exclusive Interview: Stephen Covey on His Morning...

Stephen Covey's books seem to rest on two ideas: (1) You can, with patience and effort, and with help from others and from educational materials, get control over your own mind and (2) Given this fact, you need to decide, or learn how to decide, which things are of greatest importance to you and which things, while perhaps important, are not as important as your top priorities, and which things in life you can do something about and which things you cannot, in order to focus only on those things that you care most about and only those things you can do something about in any case. Of course, having said this, it is easy to fool ourselves that we are less powerful than we really are, so we need also to really consider in what ways we hold ourselves back from doing things in areas where we could actually make a difference .
