This is an accessible, well-thought-out speech on the various issues surrounding current copyright and DRM. No surprise there -- Cory Doctorow has been an eloquent advocate of the anti-DRM stance for almost a decade, going so far as to release his own literary works under Creative Commons licenses in open formats to ensure their propagation. I'd highly recommend this speech to anyone (technically-inclined or no) who wants to know what all the hooferaw over DRM is really about.

Despite an overdose of bad language, this is one of the more inventive stories I've come across. I'd love to see an RPG based on this -- the setting could be used as the backdrop for an extremely varied campaign, providing continuity through any number of different genres. It's a very intriguing idea.

Good story by Cory Doctorow -- characters that are easy to identify with, engaging writing style, and very solid technical details. I won't spoil the plot here, but suffice it to say that it's worth reading...

Wow. I'm quite impressed with the quality of this comic -- the art is awesome, and the writing is surprisingly well-done. Highly recommended, with the caveat that there's a language warning.

I've gotta say, I'm impressed. I'm a huge fan of the pastebin concept, and even run it on a couple of my own servers. However, this guy has taken it a step farther, and actually made a version that executes the pasted code and shows you the output.



At first, I was skeptical, but after taking a gander at the about page, it appears that the guy who runs this has done his homework. He's got it locked down five ways from Sunday with self-cleaning virtual machines and a Haskell supervisor. This looks like it will be very handy when I need to see how a given language handles a block of code.

This is a very well-thought-out series of articles on why World of Warcraft will not open you up to occult influences. The guy who writes it goes into detailed word studies and uses biblical arguments to rationally explain his position. Highly recommended for showing to leery friends and relatives.

Wow -- this is a surprisingly complete listing of Internet memes, with short descriptions and/or Youtube links for each. Good to look at if you want to see what you're missing.

Charlton Heston died just recently, and someone pointed me to this incredibly courageous speech. I believe this is exactly what a lot of people need to hear -- it tells them to grow a spine, to stand up for what they believe is right, to not let the cultural norm of political correctness trample them under its stifling feet. I highly recommend this as inspirational reading.
