This picture I found on Arfur's page will be of great interest to Railway Enthusiasts as it shows a train on the rarely photographed Nudebia State Railway. The lady guard, dressed in the Nudebia National Dress, is giving the "Right Away" to the engine driver in the Nudebia Railway Signaling code.
The state of Nudebia was founded by Ivor Doffemoff as a refuge for nudists (or naturists as they prefer to be called nowadays) who were persecuted in their own counties. The state is run according to their own laws and the wearing of clothing is forbidden. Cameras are also forbidden hence the lack of photos as a concealed camera is difficult to devise. With the advent of mobile phones that take pictures more photographs have been seen as a picture can be taken, transmitted and wiped from the memory, leaving no evidence.
Trains are pushed over the border and the receiving country hooks on a loco and takes them on their way. This photo was obviosly taken from the LaLa Land side of the border as the train heads off into Nudebia.
First Lady Tindink of LaLa Land, which borders onto Nudebia , tells me that making State visits to Nudebia poses certain problems as she has to conform to their dress code once across the border and leave her clothes in the large locker rooms built on the LaLa side of the border. She is allowed to wear her Chain of Office though and has had a special one made for these visits that covers all her essentials and enables her to keep her dignity. In fact she tells me she has a bikini that covers less. She also mentioned that she makes a point of only carrying out State visits in Autumn when the weather is clement.
